But seriously, how much am I a sap for a Broadway musical that features not one, but two dog characters, played by dogs rescued from shelters and trained by the fantastic dog trainer Bill Berloni, one of whom provides a vital plot point (the dog, that is, not the trainer) ? The biggest one in the world.

Bandit, our black lab puppy took great delight in “helping” with clearing the water. He has a strange addiction to trying to catch anything thats thrown into the air be that balls, frisbees, dirt, water … anything. You may remember the hole for the pond had filled with water. I dug a channel to release most of it but the last needed bailing out. Into the hole I went with a bucket and proceeded to throw the water out, here are the results.

Mostly I laugh when I read Heather’s blog ‘Dooce‘, and especially when she writes about the dog, Chuck. Since I have a dog myself (the light of my life) I can easily imagine Chuck’s adventures in my head. I love funny dogs. I laugh with and at my dog every day!

Taylor lately has taken to chewing on the beer bottles we leave in the basement for future recycling. I can’t figure out if she’s in it for the residual beer flavor or for the fun of peeling off the labels. Probably a little of both. Really I’m just writing all this to have an excuse to post funny dog pictures. Look! That dog’s drinking a beer! More hilarity can be found at Flickr.

Goofy is the big dog at Joe's feet. He's part Schnauzer. Gracie is on the sofa with Joe. She's part dachshund or something, with long skinny legs. They are pretty funny dogs. A couple days ago, Goofy knocked the box of microwave popcorn off the counter, and they tore into and ate a whole bag of un-popped popcorn, including the wrapper. It amazes me, the stuff they will eat. Shall we say, its become poop-corn? :)
