The Dog Kennel That Didn't Get Away
The story of the girl in high heels who chased away the dog kennelHe casually walks up to my truck and looks over the tailbed. I stare intently….knowing that the only things back there are some rain-ruined moving boxes, and a collapsable Michael Graves dog kennel that I placed out there upon my return to Dallas this weekend.

Finding A Dog Kennel
It's hard to find the right dog kennel!
Hubby will be getting home tomorrow. WOOHOO! Finally will have a MAN around the house.(besides the teenager who thinks he is one, and is taking that roll to heart with his brothers.) So I will be getting some much needed cleaning and laundry done today, so that we are packed and ready to go by Thursday evening! I have to take the Golden girls to the kennel Thursday also. I decided to try a new kennel, since Daisy through such a fit the last time at our original kennel. They just don't seem friendly to me, and I guess she agrees. So I drove out to the country, too check a new one out. When I spoke to the guy on the phone, I knew I was going to like it. They live on a farm, and after they retired early, they got bored, So they opened a dog kennel and have been doing that for several years...And have watched the same dogs over and over. LOL He fixes them snacks, and plays with them. He was a very friendly sort of man. I think my girls will love it. They are attention whores, and this guys sounds like he will give them all the attention they want. LOL

In The Dog House
LOL.
A 75-year-old Polish man was chained up by his wife in a dog kennel because she was fed up with him coming home drunk.

Dog House Reconstruction
Memo to self: when building dog house, figure out how to transport it before building it.
I was able to get a free dog house from a friend. It is really nice, but it was a summer dog house so it was built with ventilation in mind. We are insulating it and we (ok Herc) put a solid floor in the bottom too. So far I don't believe we've had to buy anything, just using our scraps and old material. I had two big sheets of sytrofoam insulation in the garage so that is what we are using to make it warm inside. We just have to put the shingles on now, but then I have no idea how we are going to get this extremely heavy dog house to the dog kennel.

Steal Of A Deal
What a deal!
Well my finances aren't good, but I found a deal that I just COULDN'T pass up. A man in town was selling his dog kennel. It has 6 panels, and when put up it measures 10ft by 20ft and it is 6ft tall. He purchased it for $650 two and a half years ago, and he only wanted $200 for it!! Now I had just been looking at ones that were half the size on Saturday that were $450. How could I turn this down?

The Shelter
Story from the animal shelter.
The first dog in the adoptive dog kennels was a Bernese Mountain Dog mix. He looked about six or seven months old. He was already adopted, but he didn’t know that. When I crouched down next to his kennel, he got up and stick his paws through the kennel wire so I could pet a small part of him. When I stopped petting him, he shrunk back into his kennel and went back to sleep, as if he had given up all hope of being adopted. There were a lot of dogs that acted like that, but they weren’t as lucky as he was.

Chocolate and Your Dogs Health-What you should Know
I've never seen this much information about dogs and chocolate:
Who can resist Chocolates for Valentine’s Day? Your dogs health depends on it! (resisting, that is). We humans get to indulge because most of us know when to stop. But your dog won’t quit after just a few. Give her a chance and she’ll down the whole box of Godivas in one gulp. So on Valentine’s Day, you’re actually being kind to your best buddy if you eat all the chocolates yourself!

Ask a Kennel Owner
Want to know about different dog breeds? Ask a kennel owner who cares for lots of different kinds of dogs:
We again have such a NICE NICE assortment of boarders, though when we have difficult ones, I probably WON'T proclaim it in my web log. I think for now we should be called "Yellow Dog Acres", because there are so many golden-coated dogs here at this time!

Don't Yell At the Tech
This kennel cleaner cleans up!
A perfusionist, a person who controls blood oxygen levels during surgery, went from a job paying $100,000 per year at a hospital to cleaning dog kennels for $20,000 because he is too fearful to go back to work in a hospital. Why? He got yelled at. A heart surgeon now must pay the kennel cleaner $325,000 in lost wages in what is probably one of Indiana's (if not the nations) first workplace bullying cases.

Kennel Ladies
Something in the water?
I just picked Vivianne up from the kennel. Is it me, or are kennel ladies strange? I am pretty sure that must be a prerequisite for ladies over fifty who run dog kennels, but whew, our kennel lady was a doozy.
