Monster the funny cat has a vocal cord condition that makes it sound like he’s singing when he yawns! He was recently featured on The Tonight Show and we were able to get some footage of him! Awesome!

Am I sure I want to do this? Yes, for a variety of reasons - personal and financial. Am I sure I want to do this with him? Yes, for a variety of reasons - personal and terribly romantic. Mainly I’m just terribly thankful for a beautiful apartment that I can share with a wonderful partner and a very funny cat.

On another funny cat note, Princess has been sleeping so deep the past week, she twitches and gets all crazy. When you touch her she doesn’t even wake up. So Just a bit ago spunky got up on the chair where Princess was napping and she was sniffing her up and down and I just about thought she was gonna curl up right by her, but she didn’t. Actually that really isn’t very funny, you had to be there I guess.

Since our apartment gets deadly hot on sunny days (as I’ve described previously), we try to get cross-ventilation going by propping the door open slightly. We stick one of Janice’s sandals in the door and then use a 15-pound dumbbell to keep it from opening any further. Well one of our neighbor cats, Hannibal, who roams the hallway freely on a regular basis, has been managing to push the door open and wedge his way into the apartment. The strange thing is, Tobin, who usually hides whenever we have human guests in the apartment and runs away whenever I sneeze, is completely not bothered by Hannibal’s intrusions. In fact, it’s Hannibal (who is very friendly to people) who gets all hissy and ticked off, while Tobin just sits there looking like “that’s very interesting.” Ethel gets a little uppity and concerned when Hannibal visits, but she doesn’t get too ruffled either. Our funny cats.

She’s a funny cat, this one - a calico with beautiful markings and green eyes. Quite the curmudgeon in personality and also very smart - she’s taken over as the chief cat in our household since Pearl became senile. And now she’s sitting on me constantly. But not affectionately. Oh no, do not ever think that.

She spent all winter making a beautiful counted cross stitch picture for me! It is a cat – who looks a lot like my beloved Percival and Abercrombie – nestled in the middle of books. And the books all have really funny cat-related names, like “Caterbury Tales” and “How to Catnap".
