Okay, I’m One-Eyed Otis Filmore (blues name), Ebenezer Cottontail (bunny name), Puff Kitten (cat name), Billy Jack Keith (country music name), Jiggly Pants (cutesy pet name), Finrod Nénharma (elfish name), Professor W. Ike Phirramid (evangelist name), Sherman Tank Pond Swimma (gangsta name), ....

If I put little cowboy hats on them could I pass them off for the parts that Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal play in the newly released Broke Back Mountain?

I have discovered that he likes company when he is eating. I have gotten him to eat his food when I sat with him on the floor. It gives us more together time, so I don’t mind. He likes to sleep under my side of the bed, and spends the evening on the pillow on the couch next to me. We go for out nightly walk, and if I am not ‘up to’ the walk, he at least wants me to stay outside with him. I have discovered that his secret cat name (don’t tell him I told you) is Kitten. He responds to it and seems to like it. So, we have had some days where my trying ‘new things’ has made him mad at me (the cat carrier and the harness). He generally forgives me quickly.

Just got back from the shelter (a luxurious brand new complex financed by the Kroc and Copley families) and got two about 8-week-old kittens, they are both all-black and brothers :O) photos will come soon. I think I will name them Augustinus and Thomas Aquinas - in cat names Augie and Tommy :) Now excuse me while I die watching how cute they are !

And speaking of the other kitties: while I was studying for the Bar in February, a little calico kitten decided that this house is where it is at for cats and she moved in. She said of course her name was Callie. She had a pink scar on her belly. I asked her about it and she said I really didn't want to know how she got it. We discussed Bill Frist and John Ashcroft and their cat issues and she gradually moved from the back porch into the house. Last night, she disappeared while I was taking out the trash and today Monroe brought her home.

I've always been fascinated with the expressive positions cats assume when they sleep. Creative cat names are fun, too.

New cat names in the offing: Harriet. Argon. Angie. Feeling guilty because we will be ripping Barbara Jean Cat from her friend cat, whom she's known for 8 months. But we can't take TWO of them. Besides, Friend Cat seemed to be a bit teched, if you know what I mean. Spent the entire visit glaring at us out of her little yurt and sucking on her paws. Sucking. Loudly. Slobberingly. Hmm.

If you're looking for more suggestions...Hallie? It's what we were thinking of naming the next cat after Shy Kitty dies, except now it looks like MG is allergic so all our cat names will go to waste.
