Nano Reef
This blogger is getting back into tropical fish with a Nano ReefThis year I think I will start a Nano reef for Christmas. I am excited about the idea of it. I haven't had a tank up and running for over 2 years so this should be fun. I plan on putting in some live rock and some mushrooms and some Zooanthids also a shrimp and crab.

Watching Humming Birds
A humming bird feeder provides endlessI have a humming bird feeder outside my living room window where I sit at my computer and write these articles . It is very relaxing on a nice sunny day to look out my window with my sunglasses on and watch them at my feeder. The male birds have beautiful colors on their body. The females are not quite as colorful .

Shopping For Car Insurance
Is it harderIt’s back to the drawing board, I suppose. I guess I’ll just have to be grateful that home insurance, travel insurance, and pet insurance aren’t required. I can only imagine the kind of headache it would be to try and secure all of that without paying an arm and a leg!

Thursday Thirteen
A pet snake fan here7) I absolutely LOVE snakes and Turtles. LOVE them. I try to catch them when I hike and kayak. I would have tons of pet snakes in my house if I wasn't married to DH...who, oddly enough, is not a fan of the snake. Go figure.

English House Sparrows
HuntingEnglish house sparrows are an introduced specie that came in the 1850’s. I happen to live in one of the areas where they are found in the greatest numbers. They are a pest of backyard bird feeders. I tend to feed only English house sparrows when I have feeders out. Because they are an introduced species we allow our son to hunt them.

Bird Seed
Click throughI looked out earlier and noticed that my new bird feeder was totally empty. So, I filled it up; hence today’s boring picture! This is a new {expensive} kind of bird seed. The other I was buying, labeled “Songbird Food” had a lot of sunflower seeds and other types in shells.

Avian Flu
An avian flu updateYour pet bird could contract the avian flu if it is exposed to another bird that’s carrying the virus. So it’s important to keep your bird and its food and water inside, away from any place where it could be exposed to infected migrating or domestic birds. That way your pet won’t be at risk for getting the bird flu.

Exotic Film Pets
Some exotic pets show up in Children of MenAs it happens, the scene that we saw being shot was one of only a few minutes of film that shows how the well-off live in this new society. We saw them on the Mall in London, dressed in future-fashionable, 20s-style clothes, walking exotic pets like camels and giraffs in the park. We expected the film to be filled with this weirdness but instead it makes up only about 2% of film time. The rest is harsh and grey, and recommended.

Athens
Even the Siamese cats may wearThe Evil Eye is an ancient symbol, present within the Greek Orthodox Church. When worn, or hung in one’s home, it is thought to protect from jealousy’s evil eye, and for this reason is often hung above the cribs of pretty babies. A neurotic pet owner had even attached a tiny eye ornament to the collar of their Siamese cat, who was obviously considered a particularly attractive specimen. Dangling in abundance in some businesses and households, the symbol is taken quite seriously, as is the wickedness of the Evil Eye. Traditionally, ladies may also wear blue clothing as an additional safeguard against the evil force.
