English House Sparrows

pets bird feeder english house sparrow Hunting the pesky English House Sparrows that flock around bird feeders.

English house sparrows are an introduced specie that came in the 1850’s. I happen to live in one of the areas where they are found in the greatest numbers. They are a pest of backyard bird feeders. I tend to feed only English house sparrows when I have feeders out. Because they are an introduced species we allow our son to hunt them.
