Find The Right Dog Quiz

dog breed beagle If you're confused about which dog breed is best for you, click through.

The quiz asks a series of questions and then gives a list of dog breeds that would be good for you. The only thing I didn’t like about the quiz was that there were a lot of questions about dog food (I guess since that is what Purina makes), but other than that, I thought it was fun and informative.

I just got a Havaneese puppy. She doesn't shed and really smart. If you want a sweet little puppy this is the right breed for you, although she does take a lot of time to take care of but she is soooo worth it! ;) they originated in Cuba they should get about 7-13 pounds and don't bark that much.

I know when I was looking for a dog for my dad it was really hard to decide on a breed. Many sites will just cover your living situation and doesn't take into account the personality of dogs. I created this quiz after several weeks of research to try and help those looking for a dog out. It's at www.codefromjames.com/dogquiz Good luck with your new dogs.

There's another dog quiz with some good content on it, including a list of breeds with pictures on it. You can see it here:

I am looking for a small or toy sized gog, with a good temperment, and doesn't shed alot. I will only be able to groom it 2-3 times a week, and I can exercise it with small walks 2-3 times a week. I am still in school, but i have another dog, so they will be alone for the better part of the day through the week.

Posted by: annie mead at April 13, 2008 12:45 PM

Anyway, now that im done that, LOL. Atoosa, you should consider a boston terrier. They have sleek coats, only need a daily walk, great with kids, beautiful, not too small but still easy to carry.
Some Boston Terriers can be a bit harder to train, but i'm sure if you look into them it'll be fine.

Posted by: Puppylove. at March 27, 2008 04:25 AM

Wow, most of you people should NOT get a dog. Allison, you want a dog that will belong to the outdoors? WTF!?! You dont leave dogs chained up outside their whole lives. And all dogs cost money.
And people, if you dont have time or money to tend to dogs, DONT GET ONE!! Try a plant instead.
And what is this....people wanting small dog good with little kids? Umm...most small dogs are very fearful of little kids, unless on the very rare occasion, that they are RAISED with kids that know how to PROPERLY TREAT AN ANIMAL.
Before getting a dog you should RESEARCH various breeds of interest. Keep in mind that a dog needs DAILY exercise and dogs are pack animals, and NEED to be with their family. Their not something you can chain up outside, because once again they hate being away from you, and being chaned outside is just plain inhumane.
Dogs cost a fair bit of money, and should be fed a proper diet consisting of esential nutrients. And be sure to avoid corn and such.
A dog is a HUGE responsibility, and needs to be taken seariously seens as you will have it for 10-20 years.
Dogs are such devoted and compashionate animals. And dont deserve to be in the hands of irresponsile owners.

AND SPAY AND NEAUTER YOUR PETS!!!

Im planning on buying a dog soon and i'm not sure what dog would be write for me. I want one which is not too small, but small enough to carry, dosnt leave alot of hair around the house, only needs 1/2 walks a day,is lively and good looking, does not dig out anything, and most importantly is good with children as young as 6.

hello
me and my family want to get a dog soon. We want a smaller sized dog and one thats good with younger kids and doesnt shed alot so it doesnt affect people with allergies.
what type of dog is best for my family and I?

Posted by: autumn at March 1, 2008 02:27 PM

Hi I'm planning on getting a dog soon too but what I'm want doesn't seem to exist! I like giant dogs like the great dane, but not stocky or heavy ones, I like elegant, slender and long-legged dogs. Also, I like dogs to be obedient and good with small pets. I love the look of salukis and scottish deerhound, but they are not obedient or good with pets. Finally, i would prefer a dog with low exercise needs, ideally 30mins a day or less. Any ideas?!

Posted by: Anna at February 27, 2008 07:29 AM

bianca you should get a great dane they are calm love to be around you and are intelligent.

Bianca.. if you want a BIG dog good with children, loyal and a huge sweetheart, go with either an English Mastiff (My English Mastiff is 245 lbs and his best friend is a cat) or a Great Pyrenees (160 lbs, best friend is a 10 month old baby)

The bigger the better :-D

I'm looking for a dog that wouldn't mind being left alone for long periods of time but loves to cuddle on the couch when I get home. Also, I was thinking of getting two dogs- to keep eachother company. I really love dogs and it has been killing me not having one for 5 years. I understand the responsibility of working and owning a dor. or two. Any suggestions on my current situation???????

Bianca, the dog for you is a Pit Bull, young, no older than 6 months so you can socialize it with your kids. Judge the deed, not the breed! I am 12 years old, and have had 1 purebred Pit Bull, Delilah, 1 Pit Bull/Lab mix, Storm, and currently have 2 Pit Bull/Chow Chow mixes, Sandi and Kristi. Trust me once you have had a Pit Bull you will not want another breed!

Advice to Jerry: The right dog for you is a poodle, they are hypoallergenic and are a good companioin, they come standard, miniature, and toy. They are energenic and very loveable. They are also the 2nd smartest dog breeds.

I would like a small dog that can belong to the outdoors and not shed to much but is okay if they shed a little. They have to be cute and not cost to much. We do not want a chubby breed that needs lots of food, we want our dog to be able to roughhouse and not get tired to easily. We know this is a specific request, but we would love a dog that follows under these categories.
