It only takes one pit to kill. The problem is that I do not want my child or myself or my pets to be the one that gets killed.

I was reading incidents on pitbulls where children are killed and what i cannot understand is why the hell are these children in the company of these dogs?people are very well aware that they are aggressive ONLY when their territory is violated.all you idiots are stupid maybe you should spend more time on your children and not allowing them to wonder all over the place.pitbulls are wonderful and very friendly.it also depends on how they are brought up which people dont understand.if a wild asshole is having the dog because he wants it to be fierce then the dog will become that and automatically the dog will become aggressive toward anyone.unfortunetly they fight to the kill because that is what they do but idiots think for yourselves why kill them for their owners stupidity.all they wanna do is protect their families is that wrong?i have a female pitbull and she is the most adorable pitbull but what i do know is that if any 1 steps on to my property then thats their fault not the dogs.

i understnd that because of all the incidents that have occurred that people have formed their judgement but pitbulls are protective arent some dogs like that.

if you know of people that has pitbulls then rather avoid it but dont be an asshole and complain bout them.

y is it that it is mostly children that are being killed by them?maybe because the children are not watched by their parents. i believe that the parents are also to blame in some cases but in most it is the owners so rather kill them for making the dog evil.hope all you stupid people will get a reasonable understanding of pitbulls and concentrate on the increasing crime rates instead.

I have met some of the scariest dogs that were so violent and evil almost. NONE OF THEM WERE PIT BULLS! The pit bull I own jiggles around when I come home. And she loves children. Her name is Kira and she shares the back yard with a German Sheopard and a half-pit. What are you people talking about KILL ALL PIT-BULLS. You all are ignorant and probably racist in the real world. Stop being such ass-holes to things you don't understand.

I am a registered Veterinary Technician, and in all of my 8 years of working in a clinic as well as working at the Shelter, a dog... not just a "pitbull" has a reason for attacking. All dogs have a hunting instinct... they are pack animals! If you or someone does not establish that the dog is NOT alpha, they will continue on trying to establish their dominant role in the pack! I am horrified that you are in the veterinary field and you are putting a WHOLE breed into one catagory. If you check most statistics you will find that the all american Labrador Retriever has BY FAR more bite incidences that the Pitbull! You really should do more research before you come up with your irrational decisions.
I happen to have 4 female pit bulls in my house along with 2 Labs, 2 Springer Spaniels, 1 Great Dane a MALTESE and 3 cats that I have rescued and a 8 month old baby. I have NEVER had a problem with any of my pits, none of which I got as pups, all abused adults and 2 that were headed to a fighting pit!! I trust my pits with my baby more that I do the Labs. Yes, you mave have very well socialized your pups, however, I will stress to you once again that the Pack leader MUST be established. If this is not done properly, you will wind up with the issues that you are talking about. You should know this is you really work in a veterinary clinc. ALL DOGS are prey driven as they are hunting animals that have been domesticated!!! I really will stress that I am disappointed that you work at a veterinary clinic!
For the person above that believes that people that own pitbulls are trying to fill a "void", that is not by any means true. I am trying to make sure that I can prove idiots like you that it is NOT the dog, it is the owner. I have 2 what are considered by people like you to be "fighting pits" (rescued from that situation)and my other 2 pits that visit NURSING HOMES weekly!!! At first the residents were apprehensive about them because of their breed, but each one of them looks forward to when they visit, and miss them if I take one of my other dogs to visit. You could not be more wrong about the breed!!!

I have watched one of my collegues at an animal hospital raise two sibling pits from birth in front of me here at work over the past year. they sit under her desk in the reception area of our vet office. Today they broke out of their crate at home and killed another pitbull that lived in the house. Never would I have imagined it could have happened! these dogs appear to be soo sweet, brother and sister. But something happened today when no one was around to stop them..I'm now terrified to work in their presence.. who's next! I know that our owner says to put them down, and he won't allow them in the hospital anymore... but she won't put them down we know her.. she doesn't have the mental maturity to make that decision! What should a person like me do? If I make a report to animal control she will know it's me.. But she needs to understand that these dogs are dangerous and vicious and god forbid anything else should happen to another animal or person, after this episode! Believe me these dogs have been socialized since birth and are with people all day long! So something else is going on with this breed. If you do a google search you can find a longitudinal study that shows drastic amazing, and horrible findings regarding pitbulls and aggression.

i think that all pittbulls have a heart and i had two females, they were sisters ,but started to fight but we got rid of one .i love my dog so much and she has never turned on me or my family.its not the way thay look,or the storys,its how u raise them.and if u dont like them then dont abuse them or go near them.i love them with all my heart!!!!!!

this is crazy i have a male pittbull 8mths old about 65pounds and i have a 5 year old he is a wonderful dog very loving so for people to say there going to kill all pittbulls are crazy... its all about the way u raise them and that goes for any dog i had a teacup yorkie i had to get rid of becuz she always snapped at my daughter .... i love my dog and he is a part of the family true dogs turn but its what the owner inflicts on an animal

I have a full grownfemale Pit that's 120 lbs that will not touch you, but I also have a 3 lb chichuahua that will eat you alive!!!

all pitbulls should die. they are evil. even if the owners have taken care of them and have never shown the dog violence it is the dogs natural instinct to attack and kill. thats why the dogs were bread into existance in the first place. do your research. an animals life is no where equilivent to a humans life. the pitbull needs to be exterminated.

I HAVE A PIT AND SHE IS SO SWEET. IF ANY ONE TRIED TO KILL HER THEY WOULD GET THE SAME. ITS HOW YOU RAISE THEM, JUST LIKE CHILDREN. WOULD YOU KILL YOUR KID IF THEY HURT SOME.

SAVE THE PIT BULLS!!!! there is no way they should be aloud to kill peoples loving pets not all pit bulls are bad i love pit bulls but i live in england where they are not aloud. i own a rottweiler and they are trying to ban them here two and there is no way i would let them kill my baby i would move country first. most if not all of the pit bulls have done nothing wrong so what gives anybody the right to kill them? i say inocent till proven guilty and let the good pi bulls live !!!!!

lotti your stupid pitbulls are not aggresive in nature you need to do some research before you open your mouth. if theri so aggresive then why have they been known as the nurses made dog huh?

I think this is seriously sick and cruel, even though I am only 13 it needs to stop. I think that even if a pitbull has killed a three year old it still doesn't need to be killed, its the owners problem for buying the dog.

I agree that most pitbulls should be destroyed, and most people should not be allowed to own them. They have proven to be unmanageable for many owners. Their natural tendency towards aggression makes them dangerous around young children and unpredictable in tough situations. I've found that most pitbull owners are trying to fill some type of void in their lives, insecurity for example. These dogs were bred to fight, get a clue.

If a pitbull were to wander into my backyard it would be shot instantly (I don't even think I'd shoot most burglars), most other dogs I could control easily, with a PB I'm not sure so I would destroy it, especially if my children were around.

Just because 9 out of 10 drunk drivers make it home safely without hurting someone doesn't mean drunk driving should be allowed.

Not everyone can handle a pitbull... And people need to start doing more research into the pets they want to surround their family with. Don't blame the dog, blame the idiots who don't do their research.

I cant believe thier going to kill all pit bulls,what are they thinking. They are killing them just because they killed people, well you want to know what i have to think abot that. I think we should keep the dogs because when someone kills someone and the court gives the person a death sentence they dont go and kill every one now do they no they dont. those dogs have all the right to live on this planet just as much as you,me,my family,and every one else in the world does. These dogs are loved to death and just because a few people want them gone doesn't make it right to go and kill every last one of them. These dogs are here for peoples protectoin and dont you want people to be protected. I dont have a pit bull but my brother loves them and wants one so bad. so my friends and i are going to do every thing we can to keep it from happening. just think back when you were little and your pet died ow did you feeel? of couse your parents proboly got you another pet cuz they didn't want to see you hurt and distroyed inside exspecially if it was your first pet. So think of all the kids being tourn apart because their pet just died and now kids at school are so mean and the kid could probably only have one or two friends or mabey none so their pit bull is their best friend. so why take away the pet that keeps adults company and a kids best friend, because your just taling away another life so like i said would you want to be killed if you didn't kill some one and some else did, all im saying alot of people will be depressed and what not once you kill thier dogs and i know i have to think about other people and know that thier families will be mortified once their relitive dies but think of it this way that person has a soul and God will either take them to heaven or they had not asked God for forgivness for thier sins and they go to hell and once some one else dies in thier family or is a friend of the first person who died they will be able to see them again but since animals dont have souls the person wont ever see their dog or cat or whatever they have as a pet ever again so kill dog people depressed or dont kill dog people arn't depressed. Or take away kids best friend and have kids sad that thier best friend died or keep dogs and the kids still have best friend. All i want you to know there's more to those dogs than people think. People think all they do is kill because they think they look mean at least thats why my mom doesn't like them. Who ever thinks that thier wrong because i'v met a pit bull and it was they sweetest thing in the world. But if you continue with this exicution then i cant wait to see hiw many sog lovers and vegetarians will vote no to this. So thats all i had to say so think this over carfully and stop this madness because those dogs are here for a reason, so please take this into concideration. thank you so much for taking your time to read this and think it through.
